Oronsay is a high quality pine cabin built from sturdy whole Scandinavian logs. It stands in a superb setting looking down Loch Sunart, about 20 miles south-west of Fort William, on the beautiful west coast of Scotland and is reached via the Corran ferry (no booking necessary).

The new owners have installed double-glazing and renewed the furnishings and fittings to provide comfortable accommodation for up to five people in a charming and relaxed home. The house has its own private garden (furniture) where you can sit and soak up the glorious views.

This is one of the most beautiful areas in Scotland. Walkers will find plenty to enjoy in the surrounding countryside and there is plenty of wildlife. In fact, the Ariundle Nature Reserve is only 2 miles away and there you can participate in activities and courses or just enjoy the restaurant.

Strontian is the little village which gave its name to the element strontium, first discovered there. It has shops, hotels and a café, all within walking distance of Oronsay Cabin. If you wish to visit the island of Mull, a 20 mile drive down to Lochaline will take you to the little car ferry which sails back and forth between Mull and Lochaline (no booking necessary). This makes for an easy day trip with little or no planning required. A visit to the most westerly point in mainland Britain (31m) will take you in a different direction, through amazing scenery in Ardnamurchan, to the lighthouse on the point itself and a sandy beach at nearby Sanna. Other beaches at Kentra above Salen are nearer. Fort William is the place for serious shopping, and also has a leisure centre and golf course, as well as being the start for a stroll(?) up Ben Nevis, or mountain biking or ski-ing on nearby Aonach Mor.

Heating is by electric central heating and all electricity is included from April to October. Bed linen and towels are included. Sorry, not dogs or smokers.
