Ivy Guest Cottage stands between the Clunie Water and the Parish Church just a few minutes walk from both the centre of the picturesque village of Braemar and the beautiful hills and glens of Royal Deeside. This very well appointed, prettily decorated, centrally heated, cosy and comfortable traditional cottage is an excellent base from which to sally forth to walk the surrounding hills, fish the rivers and lochans round about, or ski in winter at Glenshee or the Lecht (23m).

The accommodation comprises, downstairs, an open plan living area with wood-burning stove and upstairs, a spacious twin bedded room. Outside, there is an enclosed patio garden to the front and a small grass area to the back of the cottage with garden furniture. There is off-road parking at the side of the house.

The village of Braemar has some excellent shops, hotels and eating places, all within easy walking distance of the cottage. There is a 9 hole golf course on the edge of the village (It lies along the river so is quite flat.) Close by, too, is the lovely Linn of Dee, with a spectacular waterfall. If you bring cycles, there's a very pleasant and not-too-demanding ride on the road and forest trails along the river from Braemar to the Linn and back along the other bank.

The Queen's summer residence at Balmoral is just a few miles along the road and there are numerous other castles and stately homes to visit along the length of Deeside and Donside, some of which have lovely gardens surrounding them. For a spot of urban bustle or a sandy beach, Aberdeen is little over an hour's drive away.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. One large or two small pets are welcome by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted within the cottage.
