Heatherlyn Cottage, Callander, Perthshire

Heatherlyn Cottage
Callander
Perthshire

Sleeping 4/5

Visitors to Scotland have long been drawn to the attractive little town of Callander centrally located amid stunning Trossachs scenery. Although set inside the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park with Loch Earn, Loch Katrine, Loch Lomond and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park all close by, Callander is only 11 miles from the motorway and a little more than an hour's drive from Edinburgh (50m) and Perth (45m).

Heatherlyn Cottage is a delightful traditional stone-built mid-terraced cottage in a peaceful location but within an easy stroll of the town centre. This excellently appointed cottage has its own pretty little garden (gas BBQ & furniture) plus fabulous views of Callander Crags and Ben Ledi. Off street parking is free about 50 yards from the cottage.

Very large windows frame the sitting room and the kitchen/dining room. There is also a fine sun room. Upstairs, one of the two double bedrooms has an en suite shower room and there is an additional single bed and a bathroom.

This is an ideal place for walking, touring or just taking it easy in very comfortable surroundings. Ben Ledi, Ben Vorlich, Ben Venue and Ben Vane are all easily accessible for hillwalkers. Callander itself has several less energetic hikes and cycle routes around the town. Sailing and wind-surfing are to be found on Loch Earn (14m) while angling and riding are both available locally.

Some years, trout and salmon fishing on the River Lochay some 40 minutes away are included in the cottage rental during the months of March and April. Please enquire. Rod/tackle hire can be arranged locally.

The Safari Park at Blair Drummond (11m) makes a very enjoyable day out for children, while parents may be attracted by the Scottish Antiques Centre which is practically next door.

Rob Roy country, near Balquhidder, is only a short drive north and from there you can enjoy an easy and picturesque drive west to Oban (70m) on the west coast. If you take the left fork at Tyndrum you can cross the desolate and beautiful Rannoch Moor to Glencoe (60m) and Fort William. Heatherlyn Cottage is definitely an excellent central location for visiting some of Scotland's best-loved sights.

The cottage is double glazed. Heating is by wood burning stove and Gas central heating. Bed linen and towels are included!included. One well behaved pet is welcome by arrangement. Sorry, no smoking within the cottage.
