near Bunessan
Isle of Mull
Scotland

Two cottages, sleeping 4 each

On the island of Mull off west coast of Scotland there is a rare combination of magnificent scenery, a mesmerizing play of light over the landscape and a sense of space and utter peace – all these contribute to an experience unlike any other. The island has over 300 miles of coastline with beautiful beaches, sheltered and deserted bays and inlets to explore.

Vew of the sea

Mull is not difficult to reach. There are regular ferries from the mainland at Oban, Lochaline and Morven. In spite of the fact that Mull is among Scotland’s best known and most popular islands you will enter a different world once you leave the ferry at Craignure and the single track road going south to Bunessan takes you through thirty miles of marvellous, breathtaking scenery.

Eorabus means ‘homestead on the beach’ and the Eorabus Crofts situated in the Ross of Mull in the South West corner of the island stand in 3.5 acres of private ground within the scattered hamlet of Ardtun close to the village of Bunessan (shops, restaurant, PO). The cottages are two semi-detached single storey croft houses converted from a byre but now totally renovated, delightfully refurbished and well equipped. There are superb views over the sea which is only a five minute walk away and where you can try to spot a minke whale. Previous guests have been successful in glimpsing basking sharks and other sea mammals in the bay.

Assapol beach with its unspoilt, delightful little coves is only a 10 minute drive away. A little further on at Fionnphort there is a foot ferry across to Iona, famous for its Abbey, silver white sands and special ambience – a real gem of an island.

From Fionnphort too there are boat trips to Staffa where you can see dramatic Fingal’s Cave, or to the Treshnish isles with their puffin colonies. The castles at Duart and Torosay are well worth a visit and children will be delighted to see 'Balamory' ( or Tobermory as we know it). Bird watchers should look out for buzzards and eagles which share the environment with the sea mammals.

Bed linen and towels and the first £10 of electricity are included!included. Sorry, no pets or smokers.
