The Dunmore Estate stretches over 1200 acres of beautiful countryside along 3 miles of the north shore of West Loch Tarbert, south of Lochgilphead in Argyll. Because of its wealth of wildlife and the exotic plants that thrive here a large part of this area has been chosen by The Nature Conservancy Council as a place of special interest. It is a perfect country retreat for those who are looking for a peaceful haven.

The Estate has very successfully converted six fine old farm buildings into six good quality holiday cottages which can sleep from 2 - 8 people. The cottages are comfortably furnished and equipped, each having its own stone fireplace, and are clustered around a courtyard adjacent to which are a further 2 semi-detached houses, each one sleeping 8. This is a perfect gathering place for groups of family or friends.

The cottages are a 5 minute stroll away from the shores of West Loch Tarbert and there are many other interesting walks to take in the area. For younger visitors there is access to an extensive garden complete with swings and a slide. The historically-minded will enjoy visiting the several archaeological sites in the locality and horse-lovers are catered for by the riding school which also offers tuition. For day trips, try taking one of the regular ferries to the nearby islands of Gigha, Arran and Islay (with its renowned whisky distilleries). In the small fishing village of Tarbert (7m) you will find good restaurants as well as a selection of shops and a golf course.

Heating is by open-fires and electricity (included). Bed-linen and towels can be hired. Pets welcome.
