Croftmoraig is a lovely detached farmhouse on the 4000-acre Bolfracks Estate, close to Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. On a working farm, it stands in its own large grassy garden amidst some of Scotland's most beautiful countryside. Nevertheless, it is not the scenery which makes the first impression on visitors, but the superb prehistoric standing stones in front of the house.
The cottage is modern, roomy and comfortable, with a warming Rayburn in the kitchen and an open fire in the sitting room as back-up to the electric night storage heaters.
From Croftmoraig's doorstep walkers can enjoy fine tramps over the estate and the more energetic ones may wish to try Schiehallion, Ben Lawers or Ben Vrackie. The Estate owns a private beat on the river Tay just over the road and down the hill. The Tay is famous for its salmon fishing and this can be arranged (at extra cost) while trout fishing is free. Loch Tay, a well-known watersports venue, is 4 miles away. Aberfeldy is a delightful little town with a fine selection of shops, many hotels and places to eat, and a golf course. Kenmore, another pretty town in the opposite direction, also has a very good golf course with reduced green fees for tenants. Pitlochry, too, is not far away (16m, all facilities). It is famous for its first-class Festival Theatre which claims you can 'see six plays in six days'. Head north to the main A9 road and you will soon be in Aviemore, the Cairngorms or Inverness itself. However, there is such an abundance of sights and activities within easy reach of Croftmoraig that you may well have to leave more ambitious touring to another visit.
Heating is by electricity, payable by meter reading, and open fire (logs 
included). Bed linen and towels are included. Two well-behaved pets welcome by arrangement, but must be kept under strict control on the Estate.
