Cringletie Farm Cottage,
near Peebles,
South of Edinburgh
Sleeps 4
Cringletie Farm Cottage has a great location on a small hill-farm just short of 3 miles north of the attractive country town of Peebles (shops, pubs, most facilities) on the River Tweed, and a half-an-hour's drive south of Edinburgh. It stands detached, almost one mile off the A703, reached via a tarmac road as far as the well-known Cringletie House Hotel and then by a quarter-mile track (a bit bumpy) behind the hotel which takes your car right to the door of the cottage and then peters out.
The cottage faces south, with its own garden (furniture), and has a quiet situation with uninterrupted views over open hilly countryside where the owner's shaggy but shy and gentle Highland Cattle often graze. It is newly decorated, cosy and comfortable, and is ideal for those who like to be off the beaten track but within very easy reach of Edinburgh, a choice of shops and restaurants, and many many excursions.
The Cringletie House Hotel serves lunches and dinners so is a very welcome neighbour - completely out of sight - but a conveniently short walk away when some serious celebrating is planned.
Heating is by wood-burning stove, night-store and convector heaters (logs, and £10 worth of electricity
included). Bed-linen and towels are
included. We regret that pets are not accepted. Smoking is not allowed within the house.
