Corrarie is in glorious countryside which borders the sandy shore of Loch Stornoway - a sea-loch indenting the west coast of Scotland off The Sound of Jura in southern Argyll some 11 miles south-west of the pretty fishing-port of Tarbert (shops, hotels, golf, restaurants), and 3 miles from tiny Kilberry with its 'Egon Ronay recommended' Inn.

Drive south from Lochgilphead on the A83 to join the B8024 down the side of West Loch Tarbert and enjoy the views, firstly, across to The Mull of Kintyre, and then glimpses of the Inner Hebridean Islands of Gigha and Islay until you reach the holiday cottage tucked away on Leargnahension Farm. Tenants can walk the hills (watch for deer and the many species of birds); fish the hill-lochs (permits available); and wander through the meadows past the ancient Standing Stones to the safe sandy beach where otters and seals can frequently be seen.

Ferries ply from Tayinloan to the Island of Gigha (visit the Gardens) - from Kennacraig on West Loch Tarbert to Colonsay and Islay (visit the distilleries!) - and from Claonaig on The Mull of Kintyre to the Isle of Arran. All in all this is a stunning location for all who enjoy beautiful sea- and land-scapes.

Corrarie is a detached modern house, built in traditional style, which stands on its own, at the side of the tumbling River Leargna, within earshot of a small waterfall, in its own half-acre of safely-fenced garden (patio and furniture) just across the river from the home-farm.

Double-glazed, centrally-heated, delightfully decorated, it is an extremely comfortable and civilised house - suitable for all seasons of the year.

Heating is by open-fire (starter pack included), and central-heating (included). Bed-linen and towels can be hired. Pets are welcome. No smoking permitted within the cottage.
