Brybeg, near Loch Torridon

Brybeg,
Torridon
on the West coast of Scotland.

Sleeps 6

Brybeg is a modernised crofthouse in that wonderful countryside on the north west coast of Scotland that borders Loch Torridon, at the side of The Beinn Eighe Nature reserve - an area which is a mecca for walkers, climbers, geologists, and nature lovers everywhere. It has a sheltered position at the foot of Ben Alligin (3,200ft), just 200 yards from the Torridon/Diabaig road and 50 yards from the Abhain Alligin Burn, standing amidst pines and birches at the end of its private driveway, a half-mile from the hamlet of Inveralligin.

View over Loch Torridon It has spectacular views from its garden (furniture) over Loch Torridon to the Beinn Damph range of mountains and the Applecross Peninsula, and visitors will be hard put to find a lovelier location. The village of Torridon is 5 miles (Shop/PO/Hotel), and from there visitors really should take the drive along the south side of Loch Torridon to the delightful village of Applecross (good pub for lunch), and return over The Pass of the Cattle -Britain's highest road at 2,000ft. (and give themselves a medal afterwards).

A view from Brybeg The famous National Trust Gardens at Inverewe should also be visited - especially as you will drive through The Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and along Loch Maree to get there, but for those who want to forget the car, there are tranquil walks, easy or testing, which you can take up, or along the foot of, some of Scotland's mightiest mountains. Sea and/or loch fishing can be arranged.

Heating is by open-fire and multi-fuel stove (coal included!included) and Dimplex heaters which give this double-glazed cottage a lovely cosy feeling in cold weather. Bed-linen and towels are available for hire. Pets are welcome by arrangement.
