Achara Lodge lies just outside the little village of Duror of Appin (shop, hotel), south of Glencoe, between Oban and Fort William. Standing in its own large garden of grass, mature trees and ornamental pools, this lovely Victorian house dating from 1840 enjoys excellent views to the rear.
There is everything here for a wonderful family holiday; Cuil Bay with its sandy beach is close at hand, excellent walking is available in the surrounding area although Glencoe will probably attract serious walkers, climbers and skiers in season. Nearby Lettershuna offers riding and the chance to canter along the shore at low tide. Also in the vicinity are sailing, water ski-ing and boat hire and for golfers there is a fine 9 hole course at neighbouring Ballachulish (5m).
At Fort William (18m, all facilities, leisure centres etc.) you can board the West Highland Steam Railway bound for Mallaig and cross over the viaduct famed for its appearance with the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films. If you head south to Oban (30m) there are cruises from here to Mull, Staffa and Iona.
All three properties are fully self-contained, do not overlook each other and have plenty of parking space. The award-winning Aird's Hotel and the Pierhouse at Port Appin are well worth a visit when dining out.
Included is the first £15 of electricity at the Lodge and the first £10 at Linnhe and Appin. Bed linen and towels may be hired. One well behaved pet is welcomed by arrangement. Sorry, no smoking within the properties.

The house is on two levels with a comfortable sitting room and open fire, a dining room through the arch and a magnificent conservatory to the rear, opening onto a terrace where the superb views to the Morvern hills can be enjoyed whatever the weather. In addition, there is a downstairs double bedroom with adjoining shower room and, upstairs, double and twin bedrooms and a strikingly decorated bathroom. ( Extra charge if all three bedrooms are required.)
Downstairs:
- Sitting room with TV/VCR/DVD and open-fire.
- Dining room.
- Kitchen with fridge-freezer, cooker, microwave, washer-drier, dishwasher, etc.
- Conservatory.
- Double bedroom with en suite shower room.
Upstairs:
- Double bed room.

Linnhe at Achara Lodge (sleeps 2/4)
Linnhe is a completely self-contained flat on the ground floor , with its own front door. The fine stone hearth adds a final touch to the charm and character of the spacious living area with its double sofa bed, galley kitchen, twin bedroom ( can be converted to double on request) and bathroom. There is a phone for incoming calls. There is an extra charge of £50 per person for numbers over two.
Downstairs:

- Kitchen with cooker, fridge, small freezer, washer-drier, microwave, etc.
- Twin bed room (can be converted to double)

An outside stairway leads up to an ingenious first floor conversion, completely self-contained. The beamed and coombed ceilings of this spacious apartment enhance the character of the lovely open plan living area with double bed settee, double (kingsize) bedroom which can convert to twin, and bathroom.
